about me

Name – Lalah-Simone Springer

It means “Dark Listening Beauty”… Quite apt, maybe? I love my name, I’ve googled it a lot and no one else ever comes up. Try it. It’s entirely mine, unlike most. Maybe that’s why I want to give my children unique names – I was quite disappointed to find out my current boyfriend’s name is James John Smith. It’s so … ordinary. I’m not saying I’d prefer his name to be Kumquat Rose, but you know… Differences make the world go ’round.
Birthday – 7th December 1990
This is something I try to share for some reason. I think of my birthday in terms of how many weeks it is before my cousin, how it’s a 5 months and 29 days before James and it was exactly 6 months before Robin’s. And vice versa, of course. Birthdays are something which a lot of people think are a day for themself, but I’ve never been into that frame of mind… I don’t know, what do you want to do?
Favourite Quotations
“Your heart is my piñata”
Chuck Palahnuik
“Mad, adj. : Affected with a high degree of intellectual independence.”

Cakes from Graff. Gorgeous French cakes in Frankfurt!

That look in my eyes... They call that pure. Unadulterated. Love.

I’m Lalah-Simone Springer.

Yes, you’re right, it’s a bit of a weird name. (It’s pronounced Lay-la).

Apparently it’s the proper, Arabic spelling of the name.

Eric Clapton was wrong, okay?

I study Journalism at City University London – to me, that means I love learning about new people, new places, new things, new inventions and new food. And then, I love telling people about it.

My passions are science, health and food.

If you tell me a fact, teach me a yoga pose and give me a cupcake, we can be friends for life.

    Hi Lalah,

Congratulations on being selected on Freshly Pressed!! I love your post they selected about the models…I love women, adore them…and can’t stand the fact I never know when I’m looking at a picture if I’m truly seeing the person.
A few days ago I became curious about how being Freshly Pressed impacts the owner of the blog. I could ask a million standard questions about how many more visitors you got, etc., etc. I’d rather let you do what you do best – write. Would you mind writing a short piece on how being Freshly Pressed affected you. One question I will ask is: Did you ever want to be featured on Freshly Pressed? I’ve come across a few who have been petrified to publish a new post because they never imagined an audience like Freshly Pressed delivers.
FYI – I am not associated with WordPress other than being a fellow blogger (in my 3rd month I believe…and I love it). Keep up the great work and I hope to hear from you!
PS – I think others are curious as well…my visitors doubled from my post on Reactions from Freshly Pressed Bloggers…..I’d love for them to see your story, too!
